So Tiff thinks that Melan sent the assassin to kill her? Understandable, but I think it goes deeper than that. Still, a little time in an arctic desert killing beasties could be just the thing to clear her head and get her priorities straightened out. Not to mention, shiny curse-ending magic sword at the end.
10 to 1 the Shaman sent the assassin , Had sent the first 3 guys and the sword dose not break the curse but instead make short people Tall! LOL No I do not think the Shaman is telling the truth. If Melanoma wanted to see Tiff dead I get the impression he would send a army of body Guards to protect Tiff till he could get there and do it personal in a duel. The guy might be many things but a cowards not one of them.
A thought just crossed my head, if the blade does indeed dispel the “curse” (still not convinced its an actual one, more like a magic malfunction) does this extend to everybody that’s been affected by it? Cuz i sure as hell dont want to see fabulous Theresa go back to “fabulous” Brother whats-his-name (its not she was never really manly to begin with anyway…).
It also comes to mind if Tiff’s curse is like one of the old Vampire or WereWolves one where if the main “curse”(not saying it’s a curse yet) is broken all that all affected are cured too?
or course it is. the wizard considers it one, the victim considers it one, ect. it isn’t like brother tom who likes it, its like if a doctor captured some random guy off the streets chopped his balls off and gave him implants. Besides even the temporary “Belt of gender swap” is considered a cursed item so of course the permanent one is
its an insidious curse that spreads virally from patent zero and twists your mind so you are no longer yourself inside(when typhon became all soft and weak for example) in an attempt to make you become the outside
its an insidious curse that spreads virally from patent zero and twists your mind so you are no longer yourself inside(when typhon became all soft and weak for example) in an attempt to make you become the outside, so even if typhon loses his fight and decides to stay trans he isn’t doing it out of free will but because the curse got to him.
what I attempted to say is that all attempts to cure it like a curse has failed. it may have been intended to be a curse but seems to evolved into something totally different. The unicorn, the spread by Magical Touch, may be part of an endgame that has yet to revealed. There maybe more to the story.
I agree it does seem to behave like a sickness, but im still not convinced its a curse, per se.
Whatever this is its based on white magic (as it is pointed out in the first pages of the comic)…and as far as i know curses are black magic. It might be an very powerful enchantment, or maybe a very powerful glamour enough to convince even the wearer to some extent. in which case, a curse-busting won’t have the desired effect. Probably will still be a valuable tool tho.
And i dont think Faden planned that far ahead, he was just trying to get out of a bind. Speaking of which, when are we gonna get to “see” him again? I miss that smart aleck wizard.
And if Typh turns back this comic will loose a sizable part of its appeal 😛
well if we are talking about what is a curse here is a defition from one of free online dictionaries.
curse [kɜːs]
n
1. a profane or obscene expression of anger, disgust, surprise, etc.; oath
2. an appeal to a supernatural power for harm to come to a specific person, group, etc.
3. harm resulting from an appeal to a supernatural power to be under a curse
4. something that brings or causes great trouble or harm
5. a saying, charm, effigy, etc., used to invoke a curse
6. (Christianity / Ecclesiastical Terms) an ecclesiastical censure of excommunication
7. (Life Sciences & Allied Applications / Physiology) (preceded by the) Informal menstruation or a menstrual period
vb curses, cursing, cursed archaic, curst
1. (intr) to utter obscenities or oaths
2. (tr) to abuse (someone) with obscenities or oaths
3. (tr) to invoke supernatural powers to bring harm to (someone or something)
4. (tr) to bring harm upon
5. (Christianity / Roman Catholic Church) (tr) another word for excommunicate
Now we all know tiff considers this gender-bending as a harm to him/herself furthermore Faden stated that white magic is not dangerous unless you pour enough energy into it which clearly states he was trying to harm Tiff. From above definitions Tiff’s current state is definitly a supernatural curse since both caster and victim considers it as harmful to victim. However since it is part of trope I doubt that sword will consider gender-bending itself as curse and situation will not improve which is kinda sad but we will see what writer has in sleeves for us..
Hmmm. White magic can be used to punish the guilty, right?
Depending on just how horrible Typhan-Knee used to be, perhaps the reason no one can break the spell and it lashes out at people who try, is that they are interfering with something akin to righteous punishment?
Possibly the magic won’t end until Typhan-Knee actually repents past mistakes and tries to make up for them.
Ten to one odds that the “mysterious man” was the one that sent the assassin, is evil and wants the sword for himself and is just using Tiff to get it. (Alternitivly the sword turns out to be a one time use thing and Tiff ends up having to choose between being a man again or turning Tadpole “human” again so he doesn’t kill them all.)

… This comic tells you a great deal of what you need to know about Typhan-Knee, methinks.
I might start missing the limp Tiffany-version from the royal ball.
A Quest!
Finally the world is making sense again!
What is this “It” that the Shaman and Typhan-knee are talking about? I hope “it” is not some clown monster. 😉

>arctic
>desert
dafug?
Uhl: “it” is Tiff taking back her place of being the rightful chieftain, plus kick Melanoma’s arse for sending the assassin/bounty hunter after her
If made spelling mistakes, it’s due to a another diabetic stroke
Shamans can be tricky. Wonder if the old man is on the up and up.
I don’t get this “It must” business. What must? That line doesn’t seem relevant to the conversation.
I think it read “It must be” as in ‘it must be this way’.
Arctic is near the poles where it is very cold almost all the time.
Desert is a place that gets very little precipitation(rain/snow).

it must is ‘brother turning against brother’ or at least that is what I got from shamans words.
Desert can also mean “deserted place”.
I bet the blade only suppresses the curse while wielded. Sheathed the curse returns.
The Antarctic is the one of driest places on earth, it hasn’t had any rainfall in thousands, if not millions, of years
Greenstalker: yup, getting that impression as well
Well, barbarians are not known for their hygiene, so “it” must be their musty odor.

Brother Thomas. And it’d be hard to be fabulous if he’s bald again.
I think the shaman is asking if it must be hypotheticaly.
Just trying to figure out who is slowly manifestifying in the Chibern: don’t recall Chibeonie or Chiff having Farrah-hair like that
