This is why I think more and more, a female Tiff going to cause problem. more so why the Shamen wants to speak to her. Maybe the shamen for women warrior, who knows, i just feel the more they talk about how bad women have it here, the more I think, Tiff is female, lol.
Way back when Tiff mentioned that when he was still all a He (and not biologically a She due to the curse) that he taught his Sisters and other Village Girls & Women how to fight to defend them selves, I have a feeling we are about to meet one of the (Half-) Sisters or at least one of his Students.
Vipre: or simply, Tad is not very observant at all 😛
Mogster: why does a giant nail-studded bat have to be phallic and not simply a good sturdy weapon of mass carnage?
And someone is probably going to make a joke how next page Tad will walk up to her and she gets startled by his unannounced appearance: WRONG!!! She already knows where he is even if she can’t hear them (she wouldn’t be much of a defense if she was so singularly focused she couldn’t notice someone new entering her area), she has noticed him and judged him ‘not an immediate threat’
@morgster. You are correct in guessing that Northern women are not allowed to be warriors. When Typhan-knee was clothes shopping (at Peonie’s insistence), the clerk specifically pointed it out. (This is the same clerk that gave Typh the demon attracting outfit presuming Typh was a “magic girl” whatever the Darkness that is.) 🙂
Tad is, in fact, very observant. He just doesn’t notice people. He’s a geek. I’m thinking an architecture geek, he seems to always notice what’s been built, and how to improve it. Like the fishing nets, and the doors in the castle.
Guesticus: Because we’re guys. (Heh, you said ‘good sturdy weapon’…)
Hmmm… Fighting skills and hunting skills are orthogonal. The best hunter is rarely the best warrior (and vice versa).
That said, any person who is good at their occupation would choose the best available tool for the job. A nail-spiked wooden club is definitely not the best tool for fighting and arguably one of the worst for hunting.
@Lurker, you think the power to be will give a female their best weapons. I bet she had to make this her self, and I bet she wields it well. The other are not worry about random attacks from animals and such, because she is there.
TJ: zack tilly, and the way she is sitting, you can tell she knows exactely how to use that club, even from a sitting position
Lurker: who said anything about her being a fighter? both the old geezers and this young lady both said “best hunter“. and would like to see you tell a giant that that tree he is using is not a very good fighting weapon (kinda sick of the mentality that the only good weapon has to be a sword: there used to a comparison between weapon masters of equal skill with their weapons and the sword-master was at the bottom of the list, ie could only defeat another sword-master of comparable skill)
Even in barbarian cultures if a woman can prove herself sufficiently then she can be elevated to a role not the same as but equal to a man. What Wyll-line is doing is wrong
Yes, but he is the tribal/clan Chief, so what he says, is right, don’t have to like it but if you strongly disagree, challange him for the role of Chieftain
While Erik the Flame did occasionally dabble in lumberjacking, he did not have a proclivity for crossdressing; nor did he particularly have the a!s for it, either.

Let me guess — Wyll-line REALLY doesn’t like chicks wielding weaponry.
Nope, no phallic symbolism there.
Anyway, don’t northerners prevent their women from becoming warriors as a general rule?

Hmm why do I think we are going to gain a new Party member?

That look on his face, it’s as if he’s just noticing her. I’m beginning to question whether dragons even like girls.

Gives the impression that she’s taller than Tad.
Also gives the impression that she has a knack for appearing “from out of nowhere.”

Awww, isn’t that cute? She takes after the uncle she never met. :p

And she’s a red-head to boot! Look out boys!

Wait, doesn’t Peonie’s ‘missing’ mother have red-hair? O_o
So this really is ‘Princess’ Diana? o_O

Wow are those railroad spikes!?
REDHEAD ALERT
Is there a wallpaper version of this?
Wait, is ‘lumberjacking’ a metaphor for something? O_o
Uh, what happened to the next comic?
I like the Greek myth reference for Diana the Huntress. The red hair is quite lovely, too.
