Wait — I thought Behr’s killers were the ones who also killed her, and that Melan-Knee was her avenger. (Though that wasn’t uppermost in his mind when he killed the three rebels.)
Change of topic: I like the new First/Previous/Next/Last buttons.
Next question… are these two going to tell the aforementioned chieftain about this conversation? Or are they wise enough not to get caught in the middle of a power struggle? 🙂
Yeah, erm, guys, advice from a confirmed coward here. You are wasting valuable running time with all that talking. I suggest you perambulate as fast as the local gravity will allow.
@GrimGhost – Glad you like the buttons, they were actually installed by Drowemos himself! They came as part of an upgrade we’re hoping will be a big help to Exiern in 2013
@crypticmirror – Personally, I feel like being chased by Niels (and Bohr) is like being chased by a horror movie icon; no matter how fast you run, and how slow they move, they WILL catch up to you somehow…
Yeah, they may be slow, but they have supernatural stamina and endurance (plus the motivation to never stop, whereas their prey is exerting themselves even without moving their legs)
Gall: maybe the fact that Melanoma was just a kid at the time? Really doubt he would have been part of it, let alone the instigator (and if he was, they wouldn’t have just let him walk away)
@Lurker not certain that it was the rebels,Melan-Knee sounds like the genetic purest here.
And this kind of says the Tiffany niece of Neil guess are wrong.
Ether way sounds like Neils planing to Kill Melan-Knee.
Don’t Typhan-Knee and Melan-Knee have different mothers though?
Oh god, that’d be a twist if those theories panned. Niels suddenly being Tiffany’s ‘uncle’ and him suddenly becoming over-protective of his last family member.
Um I’m confused. Did Melan-Knee kill Typhan-Knee’s mother and Neil’s sister. I assumed that the woman (forgot her name) was Melan-Knee’s mother as well. So why would he kill her? Are Melan-Knee and Typhan-Knee half siblings?
The way Melan- greets Tiff- suggests that they are half-siblings and on top been compeeting ones always. Maybe Melan-s mother deeply resented the fact that Rainer-bear came back with a delicate girl from south? This resentment probably passed on to Melan-. This brings up the question – Where/who is Melan-s mother?
Faden seems to have met Melan- but how did Melan- go unharmed from that encounter when 3 of his fellow clansmen died? It also makes one suspicious about Tiff-s/Fadens accident where Tiff turned woman.
Poor Tiff, I love the way he is confused about the whole business turning into a woman and trying to live with it. His greatest obsticle is his own mindset.
Teresa on the other hand had a so fast adaption to being woman that it annoys everyone, especially her fellow knights.
Melanoma killed the trio that killed his father and raid-wife
Remember: while we, and Princess-commando, know what happened, Niels does not, he believes his sister was killed recently (when Melanoma purged the foreigners, but considering there are still dorfs and tiggers around, ‘foreigners’ either means ‘humans not of the clan’ or ‘Southerners’)
Guesticus: you may be confusing Peonie with Chibionie – I don’t think Peonie would ride commando into the frozen north, lady-bits can suffer frostbite, too.
I think there’s some confusion among the fans about who exactly killed Ravner-Behr and Melan’s mother. Melan was not one of the three who killed them – the human member of the trio looks a bit like Melan, but I don’t think the artist meant him to be Melan.
Nooni: one reason for Teressa’s quick acceptance (and messed up the attempted reversal) was that Thomas was a bit of a cross-dresser so his/her mindset was already there (he was finally comfortable in her new body)
No necessary Wait. Maybe Neils was the youngest child of the family and so not that old. I someone that has an uncle two year younger that him. We have no idea to guess how many years of difference Tiffany and Neils have.
Be a Producer! Your name/title with an optional SFW hyperlink will be posted prominently HERE following the close of the month! You’ll also receive monthly mailings from Exiern’s author, Scott T. Hicken!
the plot thickens!

First?
Who says that Melan-Knee wasn’t involved with the assassins…?
Next question… are these two going to tell the aforementioned chieftain about this conversation? Or are they wise enough not to get caught in the middle of a power struggle? 🙂
Oh — and another thing: it was never conclusively stated that Neils’ sister was Melan-Knee’s and Typhan-Knee’s biological mother.
Gallstone, I think, based on what we know of the people involved, we’re meant to presume that it was Neil’s sister. Who else could it be?

You know that, Neils doesn’t.
I’m with the Uncle Niels theory

Loving the story, and this new page design is great!
Loving the way Niels ‘pops’ out of the final panel 😀

It’d be funny..
What if…
..he is Tiff’s uncle?
wait he sister is a raid slave meaning that he tiff uncle and old

Specially seeing how dye-job Melanoma returned from exile and killed all 3 (and was just a child at the time)

Good point StringPetounPing
Another example: Eddie Gurrero (probably spelt it wrong) was Chavo’s uncle but wasn’t that much older (they were raised more like brothers)
I dunno which is better, the comic or all the speculation about the story 😉
I wonder how much the author uses the fan speculation to steer his tale.
Saying he has issues is an understatement, of course the same could probably be said about the majority of the main cast.
