@Darnel. Tiff only smiles when she’s having fun. She’s only having fun when she’s either beating the snot out of something, or winning a verbal sparring match with Peonie. It’s not her”deal,” it’s an integral part of her personality, and one we all know and love.
@crypticmirror I agree. I like it but bc of all the tents I think that the center Village is a Trading center, the tents Caravans or Hunters wanting to trade maybe? I would of thought Barbarians to make use of Longhouses, but maybe there influenced by Peonies people or even traders from her land.
Are those tents, I can’t tell, if tents or if they are Saxon-esque sunken houses. My eyes grow dim with age and my computer screen isn’t so young either. I’ll take the word of people with better eyes than me that those are tents then. Of course since Exiern isn’t Earth (or if it is, yeah still holding on to that Gamma World theory I came up with while drunk, it is one in the far future) there is no reason I suppose that Barbarian means Saxon-ish. They could draw more from Mongolians/Sami and have a very mobile Yurt/Tent based culture with only a few permanent settlements and pitching entire mobile villages as and where they need to.
If winter is coming that would make sense that there are tents down near the border of Alliance lands. If the lands further north begin to freeze then why not migrate as far south as you can for an easier winter (and some light cross-border raiding for when its too cold for anything else).
Well, first of all, I wanted to give Shipeng some more direct and clear recognition for the work he has done (that’s actually why his name is first in the credits).
Second of all, it’s a faint hope of mine that this particular story line could be compiled into a graphic novel after it’s completion, and having a title page (and cover) is kinda necessary for such. Will it actually happen? Who knows… probably not… but I like the idea that the option is there if reader interest is.
Before I get a bunch of TPB questions, let me say now that I am working currently on a TPB that collects Drowemos’ work to a logical endpoint (complicated by some DPI issues), so it only make sense that the following storyline will have one as well.
And yes, everyone’s hard work on EXIERN should get a moment at times to be recognized. Thanks to both the creators and readers for their dedication!
@E Never said it was inconsistent said”thought Barbarians to make use of Longhouses”.
But to be clear its about the fact that they work well in Bad winter Climates (lots of none related Northern People Developed them.). And they Look cool.
@E By the way thats a myth the term originates from the ancient Greek word βάρβαρος barbaros. Hence the Greek idiom “πας μη Ελλην βαρβαρος” which literally means “whoever is not Greek is a Barbarian”.

I’m wondering why the artist DIDN’T draw that lock of hair as hanging down across her face.
No place like
I like that, very reminiscent of the West Stow Saxon Village reconstruction.
Hmmm… since when is there a title page?

Why a title page?

@dragondeathlord
Barbarians litterally means people with beards, (same root as barber and berba), so what is inconsistent about beards and longhouses?
@crypticmirror I am nearly blind some times I use this.
Nerve damage stops my eyes from dilating right.
