That wasn’t a punch, that was a shove. In this case, a shove works best in the chest area. A shove on the shoulder would cause Peonie to tip over backwards and a shove in the stomach would cause her to double over in pain.
To be fair to Peonie, what she actually SAID was that the shirt said it meant Tiffany was willing to “Take on any man” – It was Tiff who jumped to the “Battle shirt” conclusion.
So, it’s all about implied prepositional phrases? That’s it! From now on, every fortune cookie I read will not end with ‘in bed’, but instead with ‘in battle’.
I love this strip so darn much. Both for the “Wanton Wench” thing (hey did you know this means Exiern now has a better grasp on continuity than Star Trek Voyager) and that Tiff first tries to kid us on she was forced to take those lessons with Denver and then has the game given away that she has voluntarily been seeking him out to spend time learning…all…sorts…of…stuff. Those two are so cute. Definitely my second favourite “ship” of the comic.
Revenge is a dish best served cold, they say… :p It’s especially cold since the one taking revenge only found out about the insult to her dignity after such a long time.
Compliments to Tiffany for remembering about that shirt, though. Even if she couldn’t read at the time, it would seem that she recalled the shape printed on her shirt perfectly.
As for why Peonie got it in the boob again: every warrior knows you should aim for the centre of bodymass. And let’s be honest, Peonie’s boobs have so much mass, it’s a miracle there aren’t ioun stones or tiny moons orbiting around her. ^^

Indeed. Peonie must have back muscles made of adamantium. Or maybe carbon fibers? Whatever they are, the Travellers must have had a lot of fun when they designed Exiern’s female humans…
@Rock: Tiff may simply have seen the old t-shirt lying around somewhere.
Another thing to note is that the amount of time this comic is run isn’t the same as the amount of time that has passed in the Exiern world.

Surely it’s be easier to have the fat in her breasts contain corpuscles of Hydrogen gas, maybe a tad flammable but Helium is much harder to metabolise.
We can see her breast are large, but they might not be as dense as normal.
Her breasts lack the Higgs Boson which give atomic particles mass.
The blood flowing through them make them heaver than air, but not by much.
Her boobs are so big i know what’s in her future….

Yeah… “Wanton Wench” is a fine shirt – if you know what it says. Essentially being tricked into wearing it (she assumed but Peonie didn’t correct her), it’s understandable to be pissed off about that.
So… She still remembers that.
Glad to see so much growth in these characters! Well, SOME of the characters anyway. I don’t think Peonie’s changed much.
