AWSOME!!!!
This is interesting. When Typh first transformed, no way could she have pulled off this move – she was not yet used to the body. Now, it seems acceptance has made her stronger, not weaker.
She’s baaaack
YEAH!!!
Awesome…
I didn’t know they got WWE in the Castle
Would Chemic or Dan please put up a link on this page to when they fought “last time”?
Strong woman if she can dent metal.
Last time, she had JUST punched out the king, and then when she yelled out “who is next to die” TWO of these guys came up to her with electric swords and said “you, lass.” Next frame, she woke up in the dungeon. So she clearly DOES remember, she’s just not intimidated one on one with this type of knight.
It was also due to the spell which was put on her which made her weaker and more feminine for the king to marry. Looks like the spell wore off!
Azure’s description is very good, but if you’d like to see what led to their first altercation (which happens off panel) you can look here; http://www.exiern.com/?p=907
Marlene: I don’t recall a separate spell, just the spell malf that originally turned her into a woman. It’s trying to reconcile her with Typhan-knee’s image of an ideal woman – ie weak, meek, and soft. I don’t think it’s worn off, Tiff’s just seriously in barbarian rage mode right now, and f**k weak, she’s gonna kick a!s. That curse is in for a rough time.
BTW, this also confirms Tiff at the top of the badass hierarchy in this world. In case there was any doubt.
From my understanding it’s the spell that changed her in the first place…..
It made her into her view of a ideal woman or what a woman should be….
Seams then it’s her idea that women are weak and should only stick to ‘womanly’ tasks is what has changed.
Also, last time she faced the knights, she was already having trouble with the transformation. She attacked Teresa with not much effect (“I think my sword is broken” she said), then she attacked the captain that was protecting Peonie, again with no success (at which point she started talking to her sword, lol). At the time, we just didn’t know what was happening to realise.
M; D; & A: The first spell was a misfire; Faden intended for something for more lethal but the unicorn’s magic turned it from grim & brimstone to flowers & petals “cannot perform dark magic with a unicorn around” or something like that from like the VERY first 5 comics.
2nd spell was what Theresa tried to prevent from happening to Tiff, but she was then promptly “silenced”. Women in the order do not songcast, this was also mentioned in the Nix/ succubus(former incubus) side comic.
King didn’t want full effect of spell, hence why he nearly killed one of the songmage guys, but he still wanted enough to remove Peonie from the equatiojn by marrying Tiff and crowning her Queen.
It had to be the “2nd spell” because Tiff started to get a reduction in her rediculous muscle tone, she started getting shorter, and her hair grew longer and only then did she start to act more “womanly” if this was “1st curse” the changes should have started months ago when the whole adventure to through the woods, against the dragon, to the prison, to the palace 1st began.
Of course starting to regain her former, real personality by getting whacked by a candelabra courtesy of Theresa probably helped. Just a tad.
@ Tajz it was always only the one spell. Tiff clearly mentions while facing down the fire breathing knights that she had had enough of trying to conform to the court’s ways. That was why she was getting shorter, having longer hair, etc etc etc. in the woods, her perception of a woman wasn’t jibbing with the then circumstances, plus, she needed to be badass to survive getting peonie to her home. Hence the “womanly” transformation only happening once she was at the castle.
Is everyone else so caught up in the fact she just punched out one of the super-knights that they’ve missed the really important part of the page? Her shawl is ripped!
…huh. Ghost you’re right. When did that happen?? Must have been the glass. So much for the adamantine theory…
One spell (actually a malfunctioning ‘living spell’ that acts like a curse) that responds to her mindset. When they were in the wild, surrounded by monsters, bandits and water nixies, Tiff was in her ‘natural’ element, thus remaining tough and strong. When they made it to the Luminary city, and Tiff was dressed in silks and laces, and dragged to parties, was when she started getting more ‘girly’ – not surprising, really, if you think about it. When Theresa started hitting her, it shifted her mindset back to primitive violence – thus, she got tough and strong again.
Who cares if she accidently ripped the unrippable?
She dented the undentable (remember? Flying through walls without a dent)!
Love it.
It’s not quite clear, but it looks like Tiff dislocated Neil’s arm/shoulder in addition to the dents in the helmet and chest plate. Still wish she’d brought her scimitar with her.
For the record, the biggest injury Neils has right now is to his pride.
HA! That is great!
And she just *punched* an armoured guy.
She thought jumping through the window hurt, but this didn’t seem to bother her?
Daaaamn!
Seems her strenght and combat prowess depend on what state of mind she’s in.
Neils should have remembered that last time he was with Bors and they had big glowing swords and Tiffany was just berserk, now she is focused on protecting her BFF
mrd143 has it right, Tiff has gone “Berserk” Her adrenalin is pumping and she isn’t thinking at all, she just wants to smash and destroy whatever she has to to stop the bad guys. After the original fight with Neils and Bohr in the cell she mentioned to Peonie she mentioned the “Fire”and Peonie said that she thought that was a myth. Well it evidently isn’t a myth.
Seems Typh has turned into superman if she can denth plate mail with fists.
What is with all the movies and comics treating armor like it’s made of tinfoil?
Typh is getting taller all the time. Glad to have her back.
