Well, that was fun.
So over six years..
Not a bad run if I do say so myself. And it was very fun.
My time here as writer is almost up and I just wanted to take a little time to say goodbye. The first draft of this turned out to be 12 pages going through the history of the entire comic, what lead me up to my decision to leave and why I though “So long and thanks for all the fish” is the best way to say goodbye. I actually had 1.5 pages just on “so long and thanks for all the fish.” But in all that rambling my main point was lost. That point being simply that I wanted to say thanks to all you guy for sticking with me for all these years.
You all are seriously the best and the things I am going to miss the most about making this comic. I am going to miss how you can switch from having a deep philosophical discourse to demanding to see boobs in the same sentence. I am going to miss how you explode in an avalanche of puns at the mere glimpse of a bear. I am going to miss what interesting and entertaining lot of people you are.
Six year ago I could never have dreamed I could have met such a great bunch of people online and that they would take this journey with me. I feel truely honored to have been up here on this virtual stage and to have gotten such wonderful partners. Because that’s what you guys have been to exiern, partners. You were the co-writers of this whole beautiful world. The comic came as much from your input as from mine. It has been great.
Not that I am going away. I’ll still be bouncing around the net. But still our time here on exeirn has been something very special to me. I hope that I have on occasion been able to bring a smile to your face because I know that you sure have brought a smile to mine.
So long…
…and really…
…thanks for all the fish.
-Drowemos
PS: Remember, duck does not like to be touched.
I, and the rest that have followed this story as it has unfolded over the years, will strive to keep the light on for ya.
Good luck, and thanks for all the strips.
I know I came late tot he party, but I still want to say that you will be truly, and deeply missed. And I’m totally not sniffling at the thought of Exiern without you, totally not at all…waaaaaaaaaaaaah
When “your” final comic is posted, please say something to that effect as the first comment.
Now a question for chemiclord: Any chance of that Teresa-Denver-Tiffany three-way that I’ve been hoping for?
And finally, a joke–
Q: Did we readers get maybe a little over-the-top with the bear puns?
A: Does a bear yada-yada in the woods?
Good luck with whatever you do next, and I hope you have fun – you’ve given us lots :D!
@GrimGhost I am not going to tell you when the last strip is. Mostly because I don’t want people scrutinizing the transition. My last strip could have already past, it could come soon or it could be a couple of months. Honestly you’ll probably be able to tell because things will stop being misspelled but I don’t want you thinking Pre-drowemos vs Post-Drowemos point in the script. Just take the story as it comes.
Thanks, guy! (^.^);
I have been following exiern for quite a long time now, though I don’t normally post comments. I love TG stories, and this is probably the most epic one I have found. I don’t have anything to say reguarding the change of writers, but reading this made me realise something.
I love silent Teresa. Please keep her mute for as long as possible. I am with Tiffany, Teresa has been an absolutely annoying character since she got TGed into the story. But now that she is silent, she is darling.
TGing a character is such a great way to stick it to someone and really mess with their life. But when you have a character who actually enjoys it, what better way to stick it to him than to make ‘her’ mute. Now she is a woman who is seen but not heard. I love it.
I propose a toast to the man who’s kept us all entertained for the last six years. Stay frosty, Drowemos, I mean that.
Thanks for writing the comic, I’ve been enjoying it since the beginning having found it early in the first year.
Do be sure to let us know what you’re working on next!
I’m not sure when I started reading, but since then I’ve found this to be a pretty unique comic. Beyond the comic, the posts you made revealed you to be a pretty cool guy despite all of the chaos that when on during your stay as writer.
Hopefully you decide to stop by and post from time to time. Good luck with whatever endeavors you choose to pursue from here on out
I follow this comic silently for years, I don’t much care for forum life or comments – but now I just have to say:
THANK YOU AND GOOD LUCK, DROWEMOS.
And good luck to Exiern and your successors. I’m looking forward to read Exiern for many more years, so don’t disappoint me. Please?
