oooo-key, strong evidence for the ‘Denver is a dragon’ hypothesis. Consider myself chastened.
Have you noticed that ever since Tiff became girlier, other characters are displaying badass qualities? I guess the sun has to set before you can really see the stars.
Ah denver, at last an oblivious scholar with enough natural toughness and power to not instantly die due to his oblivious ways. ‘Cause he really has no idea how badly that would have gone for him had he been human, this is a dragon who’d bore the knight into giving up with reasoned debate.
Wow A MAGE! What’s Denver The Pour Helpless Hyper Powered Magical Fire Breathing Armer Plated Flying Death Machine TO DO!
Oh Yes that it ! Crush him like the bug he is!
Yes this is Karma.
Point to Denver the Dragon’s team, methinks. Ooh, Coyotenose had a good idea… but what I’d really think would happen is that it’d turn him into a woman *first* and then the dragon transformation would still happen anyway the same way it did to his sister. If we’re lucky XD
Also… what’s happening with the sneaking-up-behind-you Fractured during this little conversation? I’m tempted to say that even they would be surprised by this little display of fire-proofing.
oops – mirror in his glasses is not mirrored it is the mages right hand with fire in both mirrored (panel 3 ) and non mirrored (panel 4). I only mention this because the drawing and script are awesome.
This priest really has a problem with the idea of peaceful confrontation if he was going to use magefire against someone that he didn’t know could take it
Simeraz: he probably just used it as a threat, to make the annoying scholar back down. Didn’t work. Oops. Straight Blue’s understanding of magic and the universe just collapsed. Thus the ‘chastened schoolboy’ look in panel 4.
Still, just because his sister was a dragon, doesn’t mean he is. The dragon could have left his sister next to a surviving human baby in that burned house – it would help to make both children’s survival more believable. Heck, the dragon could have saved Denver just for that purpose. Or for other reasons. I’m saying, we just don’t know. There’s some evidence that Denver is draconic, but nothing substantial.
@deanatay well it’s still circumstantial but we are starting to see Denver grow hugely in confidence; compare him in first appearance to the unflinching obstacle here. It was said that a dragon went through all kinds of psychological changes and Denver’s occasional upswings of confidence seem to suggest things that way. Not to mention Denver as a dragon was pretty awesome in the ponies pic a while back XD
Yeah, Dean, it’s pretty much confirmed that Denver is a dragon, his sudden bursts of strength, especially when angered demonstrate it quite well; the only way he wouldn’t be a dragon would be if he was under some spell that makes him grow stronger from anger, which there has been no indication of.
There’s also the glowing red eyes when he threw those knights way back in the forbidden forest, and the fact that the rampaging dragon that ate all the party’s horses (and one of the knights) beforehand didn’t eat him. Also the fact that he yelled out “you HUMANS are all…” while he was raging at said knights for torching his book.

oooh, Denver breaks out the Gendo Glasses, some one is in trouble now.
Go for it dragon boy!! 🙂
Ooo, looks like Denver has Right on his side.
Or he’s a closet sorcerer.
But I like the first option.

Agreed deanatay.
Now Denver gets to flame the preacher, and since when are “followers of the one true faith” allowed to practice heathen witchcraft??
Go Denver.
Priests, you can’t just eat one.
Oh great, now he’s going to end up naked in somebody’s dungeon.

Drowemos I salute you sir!
There was never really any doubt that denver was a dragon. That was pretty conclusive around the time we met his sister.
Is it just me, or does Denver look a little bit different? It’s probably just me.
Oo, a tough guy, with his magical fire.
Now then, as I was saying…
I love it
You can’t do that!!
Well, obviously I can, because I JUST DID!
Hornet, the priest didn’t do heathen magic, he did spellsinging. (Look to the right of his mouth in panel 2.)
@Ether101 Prime In my dreams….
forgive me, for what im gonna say but someones gotta do it, THAT’S HAWT. lol
Come on, guys…. he’s Denver: the Last Dinosaur!:P
Wow A MAGE! What’s Denver The Pour Helpless Hyper Powered Magical Fire Breathing Armer Plated Flying Death Machine TO DO!

Wait, there were people that didn’t think Denver was a dragon? Not even with the scenes where he’s carrying or throwing knights in full plate?
I love their “Holy s!!t, we’re so f&%#$ed if we fight this guy” reaction…
I appreciate how Denver’s shirt is roomy enough to allow for a possible raging “Hulk Smash” moment like he had way back when.
Hey, I’m sure this has been brought up before and I missed it, but could Tiffany’s curse, if it spread, override the eventual dragon transformation?

You, you, you can’t do that ….
love the face of the priests like they are going to cry

wait…… How did he spell-sing in the middle of speaking?!
@blkwhtrbbt I think he spoke and then cast the spell.
