Your not a sweet little girl after all.
I retconed out the purple eyes from last page. I was not paying attention to this page when I put them in.

Oh, great place to live here, where justice is swift and sure. “I heard he was guilty, so I brought in the body for trial.” Now, I hope big and shinny gets changed, and it should be tiny and cute as a button.
Oooooh, I think his head is retractable!!!
Okay then, but you have to pay for the repairs to the roof!
Nope you have to remember, Magic Boy K.O.’d Bohr pretty badly, putting Bohr in critical condition. (He’s who the Healers are operating on, in the panel “Or… Maybe Not) To put it into modern terms, the kid shot a fellow officer of the law, so Niels, once out of his induced funk, reacts accordingly to a suspect who’s “Armed and Dangerous” and a possible cop killer.
Of course he could be about hit clip him with the flat of the blade as well, an experienced swordsman will only turn the blade at the last moment. Lets face it, when facing a sorcerer, inside the palace, without an invitation you AT LEAST want to knock him out. Any less is just asked to be newted 😉
The purple eyes on the last page disappeared…now they’re orange…Hey Neils…orange you glad you have that sword?
Well, the Royal Guards did had Glowing Eyes (and magic lightning swords) back when Tiffany hit the King (Who else wants to die?):

And don’t foget that Bohr took the shoot and was not expecting it’s force. Also we have not really seen if thare are really 100% humans in those royal guard armor. Or from what land those humans come (and what power their traveller gave them).
So this may be a more equall fight than you think at first.
I hope that doesn’t disturbs the bowling plans for friday:

No comments about the previously non-magical Mira suddenly tossing about bolts of power?
That was a terrible pun !
Yeah, I fully expect the “little girl” to be just a method of controling the kid. They’re going to use him like a tool, probably for something suicidal at that.
Ahhh, finally the comments about it being Niels have some weight, Bohrs has the purple eyes, but Drowemos took them out. Neils has the orange ones, I’m guessing. Sentinels are, afterall, designed to be mountains of steel, indistinguishable and unreadable. (I’m just guessing, but I think Drowemos has read the same books I’ve read, because his sentinels are fairly close to what I imagined from those.)
Moving on, the little girl scares me…
What I really want to know is do these guys have any powers of their own or are they simply able to deal with those that have powers in a specific way? Do the eyes have something to do with that? Do ants have arseholes? We may never know.
I read your comic since near it’s beginning (around the time when the “heroes” exit the castle of the sorceror), and i still like him. But i have to say : Facing a real knight, you DON’T put you hand in reach of the sword. It’s an automatic and instant losing it. Theses guys were far more lethal and fast than we see it in movies.
I hear what you’re saying Durand, but (there’s always a but) surprise attacks, especially ones that blow holes in the ceiling, are always avoided, not countered. No matter how fast you are, how good your reactions are. I’ve been doing fencing for a while now, and that’s as fast as it gets, and quite simply if somebody comes out of your blind spot and aims straight for your head, you evade, there isn’t a counter for it.
On the other hand, now she’s known, she can’t surprise him again, and he’s wary for any other tricks that the others will pull (his only mistake was rushing in, now that he’s not doing that anymore there’s not likely to be another chance to hit him as cleanly). He’s definitely fast, how else could he have successfully evaded mid-swing? So now we’re going to see some bad-assery XD
Again though… does he have counter-magic abilities/gear/experience, or magic of his own to augment his size and speed? That’s what’s going to determine how big this fight becomes.
Well, basically, you can avoid AND attack in the same time (i say it was easy, here), attack faster (the pink attack wasn’t instantaneous, particularly with a sword attack already on it’s way), start some move that make the girl deviate, etc.
Remember : Fencing is a sport, used with precise rules against civilians. That’s not enough facing a professional.
S!!t’s starting to get real
Or look real in this case
