TYphan-Knee’s most attractive feature is that she(he) is a Warrior Woman.
The princess is acting villainy at the moment… to be unfair she has been acting like a villainous for a while.
…It is true…
I have been looking at her arms for the longest. Men are attracted to women with proportionately long (and in this case strong) arms.
I want a pet Mingalo now…I called the local shelter but they said they don’t rehouse them. Something about barbed hooves that serve only to rend flesh making them unsuitable for small apartments.
As for the whole villain/hero thing I’m gonna turn this over to Terry Pratchett (via Havelock Vetinari) “You could say that a hero is someone that indulges every whim, that within rule of law, would have him behind bars or swiftly dancing what I believe is known as the hemp fandango. The words we might use are; murder, pillage, theft, and rape.”.
A villain is often a hero standing in the wrong place. In this case Tiffany’s “heroic” misogyny and viewing women as just second class citizens, or less, is contrasting with Peonie’s villainous intent of helping a friend be happy in a role that she would be comfortable in (and has been when she was just rolling with it) and find as much success as she can in an imperfect world. What sort of evil person tries to help a misguided friend be happy, what a bitch!
Anyway, hopefully that warrior-princess woman that the bar-bear-ians had with them can slap Tiff silly until she realises that woman does not automatically preclude warrior.
And Tiffany has a lot of experience with villainous quotes. She knows whereof she speaks. But now I want to see some flashbacks of Typhan-Knee the Barbarian whupping up on some Thulsa Doom and Thoth-Amon alums.
“I’m a warrior, not a woman.” Warriors don’t LEARN things, Peonie! Geez, Lady. This made me laugh quite a bit. It also adds to Tiff’s characterization, because, well, yes she is!
… if I was an evil wizard that loved messing with his victims in cruel and unusual ways…
I would make a guy into a girl with the spell set so that it will only be released after the dude got pregnant and on the minute prior to birthing the child. The spell would use the unborn child’s life energy just to screw with the guy even more.
A sick cruel spell that ensures that the guy will never recover from the ordeal. Or his husband.
Honestly, the villain comment probably is a reference to Peonie’s deal with her father to prepare Typhan-knee for her role as “queen” something that is meant to show that it is probably not in her best interest. it’s actually about time she had a freak out like this…It’s kind of overdo and I can understand that if you were to grew up as a man in a society where men are supposed to be warriors and women are mostly viewed as second class citizens or at the very least not warriors and you bought into that view and became a warrior to suddenly find yourself as a woman than the reaction probably would be somewhat like this even if it’s a short sighted view on Typhan-Knee’s part.
More like “if you can have sex in that body of the opposite gender than you were born in then you like that new body and now it is permanent. Congrats on your new gender!”
No, really. What’s a mingalo? Sounds like a mango-eating exotic bird..
Is it a disambiguation of a witty nickname for a female body part? It is isn’t it?
It’s a (probably) fictional creature Peonie made up to keep herself entertained while she was in Faden’s dungeon. http://www.exiern.com/?p=899
Only “probably” fictional, because as we know the Exiern world has a twisted sense of humour and it may exist entirely co-incidentally. Probably helps keep the squirrels in check by interfering with their telepathic link and cloning ability.
I’m still annoyed at that sneaky, manipulative king trying to coerce Typhan-Knee into marrying him and see several alternatives. 1) She marries the king and kills him. It’s how many royal spouses ascend the throne and once she’s queen who could hang her for it? 2) She marries the lovely librarian first. Unless this country’s laws allow for bigamy, that ought to save her. 3) She marries the jerk and with some really huge luck gets her manhood back while the king gets transformed into a female. Seeing how weirdly magic behaves around Typhan-Knee, that’s a definite possibility AND it would fulfill the terms of the king’s contract. Let him become a woman and push out the babies. See how he likes it!

If I was to make a spell that turned a man into a woman or woman into a man it would become permanent the second sexual fluids are exchanged.
MNH….
The china shop rule?
“You break it, you’ve bought it.”?
More like “if you can have sex in that body of the opposite gender than you were born in then you like that new body and now it is permanent. Congrats on your new gender!”
Also if a male turned female had sex with a man or a woman it wouldn’t matter.
Mingalo.
I’m guessing its a cross between a buffalo (which are in fact very dangerous) and Ming the Merciless from Flash Gordan.
Well it couldn’t be Ming the Merciful, she’s dead.
Minataur with a Buffalo head.
Wait…. That’s still a minataur!
No, really. What’s a mingalo? Sounds like a mango-eating exotic bird..
