Again sorry.
Guys I am so sorry about the schedule lately. I am working 16 hours a day at my current job because… Well because my last job decided to not pay me and I am now $7,000 in the hole. Remember a little while back when I said even with the paypal thing Exiern is not in trouble because I have a good job. Turns out it was not so good.
So now I have not time to letter the pages I have and money is kind of tight. The stress of dealing with this whole not being paid and having to work 1.5 jobs is really killing my creativity as well. So it’s hard to get thing updated on time.
Now I know the first response is going to be “I can help” and I really appreciate the offers but the points were there are problems are not points where people can help out. I have gotten in the habit of reworking the script at the point of lettering. I have found it makes the comic more concise and easier to read. I wouldn’t want to give up that task.
As for the creativity deficit I don’t know what can help there. My brain has never been so empty. It all the stress of dealing with all this stupidness that is really getting to me. I like input in general but I usually have a structure and idea to hang it on. Right now I am a blank. I don’t have any whole to fit advice into.
The only think you could do is tell my previous employers to stop being a douche and pay me. Frankly I am not yet at the point where I want to unleash the hounds on them and I don’t know if that would even help.
I am going to try my best to keep the comic updating but it’s a bad time right now and the schedule is going to be erratic.
Thanks for hanging in there with me.
Take what time you need, dude. Life happens.
One suggestion which won’t be of any great help, but might be a little boost…
When Dreamland Chronicles made a plea to readers to disable ad-blocking, if I remember rightly his ad-revenue went up 10-fold. He has a lot more ads on his site, but it might be worth considering. Also, maybe shrink down the RSS image so it’s worth clicking through to the site? I do so as often as I remember, but you know how the saying goes; ‘the spirit is willing but the memory is weak’ :).
So not sure what the job was for the guy, but if he received the product / service, I’d consider looking into arbitration or maybe there is a local department of commerce you could go to. IF you’ve got only a verbal contract maybe arbitration is the key.
7 grand? Dude, take all the time you need.
Take the time, your real fans will stick behind you. Just at least pop by to let us know you’re ok when you can.
And for $7,000? Take them to small claims court while you still can. You deserve better.
well an erratic schedule isnt gonna help make u those coinz, nene. im start to chant “bring back Boom” for a while. Now that was when Exiern was cute
No worries, you gotta do what you gotta do… BTW, FANSERVICE !
That sucks to here, dude. Still, take your time, get back on your feet, do whatcha gotta do, hope the 7K short-changer chokes on a brick, take care of y’self.
About the whole PayPal thing… have you considered making an account in some other system, like, a virtual currency maybe?
In the Internets segment of my country there are such systems (WebMoney, Money@Mail.ru, YandexMoney) that let you accept money and draw them out, like with PayPal, and there are “currency change” hubs that let people transfer money from one system to another and also from PayPal accounts. So i’m guessing there are systems like this in the English Internet segment too. Why not use them? I’m sure people who want to support the comics would take on an effort to spent 5 minutes to figure out how to send you a donation in these new changed circumstances – i myself would…
so i guess there should be some systems like that in the English segment too.
No worries, do what you have to, life happens 🙂
I love this comic. I want to see how it all turns out. Take your time to straighten things out. You deliver this comic to us for free. I’d rather you take care of stuff and deliver a better story then you turning out pages just to appease some patience fans. Do what is right for your art. ^^
take your time we are all not going any where.
If your previous employers refuse to pay you, you might look into a lawyer who will work for part of the winnings rather than any pay upfront. He’ll hit them for whatever he can get them on to maximize his pay, and you might end up with more than you would have been paid if they paid right away.
I’m not a big fan of how sue happy people are nowadays, but when you are truly wronged, the option is there.
